Will I need to provide private tuitions for my child to be successful?

Not required. The Corvuss core faculty provides personalized mentorship and support by giving every student the attention they need, when they need it. All of our International faculty will provide additional individual tutoring for students who require it with no additional cost to the parents.

Where do my child’s teachers come from?

The Director of Corvuss American Academy is a highly established educational professional from Canada and the Senior Leadership Executive is from the U.S. While 50% of the academic staff are international professionals, the other half have been handpicked from across the country.

How long is the school year?

The official school year consists of up to 200 days of instruction. Starting from August through June of the academic year.

How can I keep track of how my child is doing?

We provide comprehensive written reports on a semester basis and interim reports mid-semester. There is also a real-time tracking facility through the Academy’s secure web portal. And, the academy administrators, teachers, and coaches are always available through email or call.

Can I enroll my child as a day student?

Corvuss scholar-athletes are encouraged to live on campus so that they can fully benefit from the integrated academic, sports and boarding programs. It also allows the experienced Corvuss staff to better monitor overall student growth and development.

What are the Admission requirements at Corvuss?

Does Corvuss American Academy assist with the college application process?

Absolutely, college admission counseling is provided at no additional cost. Expert coaches and counselors work closely with our Scholar-Athletes to ensure they get ample opportunities to pursue academics and sports at elite universities in the U.S. and worldwide.

What type of meal will the students eat on campus?

Our Scholar-Athletes go through rigorous training and high-level competitions. To meet the physical demands, we have a professional nutritionist on board to help us create individual well rounded nutritional meals in accordance with every child’s dietary restrictions to help with every students performance on and off the field.

What do the tuition fees include and exclude?

Annual tuition fees include the academic curriculum, exam fees, sports coaching, games and sports facilities, local competition, and entry fees, in house counseling, SAT prep, Sports nutrition and conditioning. Any out of town travel for camps or competitions, meals, and competition fees are billed at cost. Laptop and textbooks, personal equipment and uniform requirements are billed at cost.

How will Universities receive my son/daughters Corvuss high school transcripts?

Our Corvuss high school counsellor will send your son/daughters official transcript to the Universities and NCAA Eligibility Center after the completion of their Grade 11 year. If your son/daughter has attended more than one high school, the Universities and NCAA Eligibility Center need an official transcript from ALL high schools attended. Our Corvuss high school counsellor will also send your final transcript with proof of graduation once you have completed high school, grade 12.

What is a Grade-Point Average (GPA)?

The GPA for your core-course grade-point average is based on the grades you earn in NCAA- approved core courses. Only your best grades from the required number of NCAA core courses will be used. Grades from additional core courses will be used only if they improve your grade-point average. Our Corvuss high school counsellor will assist with the monitoring and calculating of your GPA.

How is the SAT score calculated?

A combined SAT score is calculated by adding your critical reading and math sub-scores. You may take the SAT test an unlimited number of times before you enrol full time in University. If you take either test more than once, the best sub-score from different tests will be used to give you the best possible combined “super” score.

What is a U.S. High School Diploma?

It is a rigorous, international, and highly accredited diploma which consists of four years of full-time study from grades 9 through 12 with a minimum of five subjects each year. This comprehensive, international curriculum includes four years of English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Also required are two years of World Language study and two years of elective courses. A U.S. High School diploma is universally accepted and preferred by all top U.S. Universities and recognized and accepted by Universities around the world including India.

What if I do not want to send my child abroad after 12th Grade?

Our American curriculum is recognized by universities across India and any child with a diploma from our Academy can apply to universities in India as well as anywhere abroad.

How is Corvuss different from the other schools?

Corvuss American Academy offers an American high school curriculum which is a rigorous intense program taught in all schools in the United States. Our curriculum is designed to help your child excel in all their academic and sports goals and give them the edge to get into the best universities across the globe. We provide our students with classes taught by international faculty, world class sports training directly from our international partners, nutrition, counselling, exam prep and more all in house at no additional cost.

What is the NCAA?

The National Collegiate Athletic Association is the non-profit organization that regulates athletes and athletic programs in the majority of universities in the U.S. They monitor that students competing in university-level sports meet academic requirements like courses, grade-point average, and SAT scores. The Corvuss curriculum is designed to meet NCAA eligibility requirements.

Will I have to hire a tutor to prepare my child for the SAT exams

Not required. At Corvuss, we start preparing our Scholar-Athletes for SATs early on by directly introducing SAT subjects and questions into their High School curriculum.

Where do my child’s coaches come from?

The coaches at Corvuss are some of the most experienced and able mentors from across the globe, providing our Scholar-Athletes world-class training. We’ve also partnered with global sports leaders who specialize in sports development and nutrition.

What happens if my child misses a class because of sports competitions?

The Corvuss academic program is designed keeping every student’s competitive athletic abilities in mind. Our flexible programs ensure that academics and athletics don’t just co-exist, but thrive.

Will I be able to watch my child’s sports competitions online?

Absolutely, each of the Academy’s sports facilities is equipped to provide either online streaming or delayed replay of competitions hosted at the academy.

What are the school facilities like?

Corvuss American Academy offers world-class academic and sports facilities. The state-of-the-art classrooms are all equipped with the latest technology, we have international standard dorms, dining halls, study rooms and recreation areas. In addition, for each of our eight sports have multiple training facilities, a 12,000 sqft gym, recovery and conditioning pool and a customized nutritional program.

When can my child apply for admission?

How is my child supervised when not in class or involved in sports?

The Corvuss American Academy is a limited access facility with full-time security staff. Strict visitation rules which need to be pre-approved by the parents and faculty. Students are not allowed to leave the facility under any condition apart from parent sanctioned trips or supervised competitions. There are resident adult supervisors in each of the Academy’s on-campus boarding facilities. And key card access to limit access into all campus buildings and student areas.

Are medical services provided?

There is a full-time medical professional stationed on campus with adequate medical equipment. Our campus also boasts a rehabilitation facility for sports injuries where trained sports and conditioning experts tend to our Scholar-Athletes.

How are the Dorm Parents selected?

Each dormitory is supervised by an experienced and professional dorm parent(s) as it is very important for our scholar-athletes to have parent-like advisors while living away from home. Our dorm parents are carefully selected through a comprehensive screening process to ensure they are able to provide a nurturing and caring environment for our boarders. Each dorm parent has successfully completed a security/police screening and will be trained in our Child Protection Protocol, Emergency First Aid and CPR.

What type of security is on campus?

Our top priority is the security and safety of our scholar-athletes. The Corvuss American Academy provides a fully monitored, safe and secure campus where your child will feel at ease. The campus is well lit and staffed 24 hours a day, and the dormitories feature locked entry with security access cards required. In addition, we have full time security guards for both the dormitories and the main campus entry gate. Our comprehensive video surveillance system is monitored by our security staff 24 hours per day. Each scholar-athlete is provided with a security access card and is only able to gain access to the areas/facilities approved for them.

Can my child leave campus?

Scholar-athletes are required to remain on campus at all times.Scholar-athletes are not permitted to leave campus at any time unless they have permission and are accompanied by a parent or CAA staff member and have signed out at the Main Office.

What is the U.S. Advanced Placement Program?

With AP®, students can take college-level course work in high school. When students take AP courses and exams, they demonstrate to college admission officers that they have sought out an educational experience that will prepare them for success in college and beyond. Performing well on an AP Exam means more than just the successful completion of a course. Most colleges and universities accept successful exam scores for credit, advanced placement, or both. And, research consistently shows that students who are successful in AP typically experience greater academic success in college than those who don’t participate in AP.

What does a day in the life of a Corvuss Student look like?

Our curriculum is tailor made for our students depending on their grade, choice of sport they play. The daily curriculum for our students includes 6-7 hours of academic classes/study time and 2-3 hours of sports training and fitness every day. To see the detailed schedule, go to our DAILY ROUTINE
